Student Safety
Safety First
Our commitment is that every West student is safe in school and that they learn something meaningful every day.
At Aurora West College Preparatory Academy, we are taking steps to keep students safe in our newly remodeled building:
- We have only one entrance open during the day, which allows us to more easily monitor visitors entering the building.
- We have all students in one building, so that they do not have to walk outdoors to get to class.
- We have lockers for every student in the school, eliminating the need for students to bring backpacks and unneeded materials to the classroom.
The Aurora Police Department narcotics' dog, Katie, will visit Aurora West College Preparatory Academy in the upcoming weeks to meet our students. Katie will return on unannounced days to search lockers in our effort to keep West a drug-free school.
