Enrollment/Counseling Information
Registration - To register your child, the first step is to drop in (no appointment is necessary) an APS Central Registration Office. The office closest to West Middle is at 690 Peoria, Suite F. The office is located on the southeast corner of the Hoffman Heights Shopping Center. The office telephone number is 303-326-2000. The office is open from 7:30-4:00. Once parent(s) have taken this step, the next thing to do is bring the enrollment paperwork (given to parents at Central Admissions) to West Middle School. While at West, students will be set up for a two hour New Student Orientation. Students begin school the day after their orientation.
Schedule Changes - To change your child's schedule, contact the Counseling Office, and speak with a counselor. Such changes require a discussion in order to determine the reason for the requested change.
Appointments with Counselors - The best way to make an appointment with a counselor is to telephone West Middle School, and ask to have your call directed to the Counseling Office. Counselors are happy to help arrange a meeting with students' teachers as needed.
Parent Coffees - Monthly Parent Coffees are held during the school year to help ensure strong communication between West Middle School and our students' parents. Look at the web site's monthly calendar for the next scheduled Parent Coffee.
Parent Volunteers are Needed
Parent volunteers are needed! We would like to invite our parents to volunteer at West Middle School. There are many different ways you can support our students. One way is to help us keep our students safe in the morning and afternoons by serving as a crossing guard. The morning session is 7:15-7:40 a.m. The afternoon session is 2:50-3:05 p.m. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Family Liaison, Deborah Washington.
Support Line - HELP FOR PARENTS!
The Family Support Line of FAMILIES FIRST, 303-695-7995, is a free, confidential help line offering information about child development and parenting issues from caring, trained Support Line volunteers. Families receive support during difficult parenting times and referral to community resources. The support line is available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
